This is my engagement ring I just received and I am absolutely in LOVE with it. I'm so scared to wear it when I'm doing my everyday activities (washing hands, eating food, putting lotuon on, etc.). It is a lab created sapphire in the middle surrounded by white sapphire stones and a sterling silver band. I just tried cleaning it with the dish soap and warm water method and feel like it actually made the white sapphires even more cloudy. Is there anything to help with this or is it just inevitable? I just got it and want it to stay beautiful and shiny. Lol.

ivyleague19:  Maybe you just didn't rinse it enough? I have an ultrasonic that I use and it does a great job, I had some white sapphire rings and they did always shine up nicely with warm/hot water and dish soap and a baby toothbrush.
I love your ring, it's beautiful!

Thank you very much! And I thought I rinsed it well enough. Ran it under warm watter twice for a few seconds then blow dryed it. And finished with wiping it with a micro fiber towel.

ivyleague19:  Your ring is beautiful! Congrats! I clean my sapphire ring by soaking it in one part ammonia and six parts cold water then brush with a tooth brush, rinse with warm water, and dry with a blow dryer.  I just cleaned mine 😀

Congratulations!  Your ring is beautiful. I know everyone talks highly of dish soap for cleaning diamonds, but I bought a small tub of jewelry cleaning solution from a local jewelry store near me and I have found that that works even better.

Congrats!

i use regular dish soap and the warm water method and i think it cleans it well enough but i have to do it constantly and it drives me nuts haha. i might have to invest in a good jewelry cleaner to really make it shine. i take it off when i shower, do the dishes or any chores so my ring doesnt get too cloudy.

Your ring is so pretty! Be careful what you use on it since its sterling silver. Ive heard ammonia is bad for silver so I would steer clear of that. Connoisseur makes a good jewelry cleaner that i use on my jewelry and it works great. It looks like this

Since you have silver I would make sure to get the one that says delicate.
